Our Double Stout, the sixth in the series, is brewed to a recipe from 1910 – a time of high popularity for this strong dark ale. This recipe is distinguished by smooth chocolate and coffee notes, with black forest fruit flavours emerging with hop bitterness. As a bottle conditioned beer it contains sediment that allows the flavours to develop up until the moment the bottle is opened. A perfect alternative to port, great with cheese as well as chocolate.
Note – due to labelling requirements this beer is past its best before date but it is designed to cellar and age.
